Coucou Hibou

“Dans la forêt lointaine, on entend le coucou. Du haut de son grand chêne, il répond au hibou. “ My mother used to sing me this French nursery rhyme when I was a little girl and now it is my turn to sign it to my son, thirty years later. It is all these precious childhood memories that inspired the creation of Coucou Hibou; our sunny backyard in the summer, the cherry trees, the lilacs separating us from the neighbour, the lily of the valley that lined the house and its fragrance, vacations in Cape Hatteras, the frogs at the cottage, Christmas time…This warm feeling that comes over me when I think back to certain melodies, certain smells, certain stories, I wanted to make it tangible, to immortalize it and share it. Coucou Hibou was borned when my son turned 2. Thanks to him, I entered the fascinating world of parenthood. I was also able to reflect on my own childhood, from a mother’s perspective. It’s through my own experiences, successes and failures that I am able to offer useful, safe and cute products. Each item, each model, was chosen because it evokes an emotion that brings me back to this carefree period of warmth and discovery. Welcome home!
